I arrived in Alaska from Idaho in 1970. I first lived in Tok, working as a cook at the "Parker House" lodge. My mother was in the resturant business when I was growing up, so I have been cooking in restaurants every since I was a youth. I gave up cooking after the Tok job to become a Surveyor. I moved to the Kenny Lake area in September of 1970.
I helped a homesteader finish his home and eventually bought his home and five acres. The original homestead cabin burned down in 1975 and I built another log house, which I sold in 1996. I was the assistant volunteer hockey coach for the highschool team in the early 1980's. I served one term on the Copper River School District Board of Education. I am a licensed surveyor in the State of Alaska. My survey work has taken me all over the state and has thus given me an intimate knowledge of the people and places here. My hobby is marathon running and I would be happy take any of my "running" visitors out for "fun" runs.

I was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Long Island, New York with my family at age 7. While growing up I spent the summers at my grandmother’s bungalow in the country. We had an old-fashioned hand water pump and an outhouse. What a fun time it was “roughing” it with my grandmother and the rest of my family. It was those wonderful summers that gave me my love of the woods and my adventurous sprit. As an adult I continued the summer “tradition” by taking my own children to the “cabin” in upstate New York. We spent many of our summer weekends at the cabin or camping out. My love for the great outdoors continued to grow. It is no surprise to me that I ended up living in the “Last Frontier.”
My life’s work has been in the health care industry. I began as a nurse and then became an addiction counselor. I have had the privilege of working with people most of my adult life. My life changed after being severely injured in a motor vehicle accident. While recuperating I had time to reflect on the choices we have in life. When this opportunity presented itself my husband and I decided to take a chance. We decided to build this home and to do something we both knew we would love. That is to provide a quality adventure experience in this beautiful section of magnificent Alaska. I met C.D. in Las Vegas in November 1996. He had already established himself in Kenny Lake. I visited him in Alaska several summers and it didn’t take long before I knew that I wanted to live in this wonderful Copper River Basin. I truly love this beautiful area of Alaska that we live in today.
